Eric Evans put the Santo Domingo Dragons on his shoulders as they downed the Trenton Stars in the Wilcard Round.

Santo Domingo won the deciding game by a 6-0 count at Regions Field and wrapped up the series 4-1.

Evans played a key role in the victory, as he was named series MVP for his offensive output, which included a .632 batting average with a .650 on-base percentage, 1 home runs, 9 RBI and 4 runs scored.

"I told myself it was time to step it up and help the team win and I'm glad I was able to do that," he said.

The Santo Domingo Dragons will play against the Indiana Hounds in the next round. Indiana had a bye in the Wilcard Round. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Wilcard Round finishes.
