Sackett Helps 84's Defeat North Stars, 4-3
|
The Greenville 84's handed the Minnesota North Stars a 4-3 defeat at The Kallipolis. Left Fielder Pat Sackett starred for Greenville. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Holden Leonard. He's now 7-7. He went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits for the 84's. Herman Banks locked down his 23rd save.
Greenville took a 4-2 lead on Sackett's 22nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Riley Cook in the top of the eighth, propelled Greenville to the win.
"It feels good to get this one," Sackett told the Greenville Chronicle.
The win elevated the 84's to 62-42.
