Calrissian Victors, 2-0, at Jersey Shore
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Orlando Calrissian and the Jersey Shore D-Bags, pitcher Watson Reed was the difference between victory and defeat. The Orlando right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-0 Calrissian win. Reed, now 9-6, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Orlando, at 46-58, sits in last place in the Fire Division.
Orlando third baseman Víctor Marrero contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a slider to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 79th hit of the season and put the Calrissian ahead, 1-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Reed, "and today was a good one for us."
