Machine Win at St. Charles, 3-1
|
Earl Hooker never let the Sheens get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Machine to a win, 3-1. Hooker picked up the win for Chicago, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-10. Jaime Rodríguez, credited with the save, is now 18 for 23 in save opportunities.
Ryan Holden, the 27-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Holden contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Chicago up, 3-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Chicago skipper Pat Miller. "I can't complain."
The Machine now have a record of 36-68.
