The San Francisco Seals locked up a win at Seals Stadium, knocking off the Dallas Steers, 4-3. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Dale Drake. He played a major role in the triumph. Drake got the win, improving to 3-10. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Ron Anderson earned his 15th save in 19 chances.
Patrick Campbell had a big grand slam home run for the Seals in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Francisco trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a changeup from former first round draft pick Dan Valéncia and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Seals on top, 4-1.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Seals manager Skip Andrews.
With this game in the books, San Francisco is 46-60, Dallas 47-59.
