The Fort Worth Cougars did just enough to secure a victory over the Yonkers Yetis, 4-3, at Cougar Den. Nobody did more than pitcher Nick Washington. The winning pitcher was Washington, now 5-6. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Pat Bruce was credited with the save, his 27th in 31 tries.

The Cougars got a big at-bat from shortstop Jack Tannehill. For the game, Tannehill went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 32nd home run of the season gave Fort Worth a 2-1 lead.
