St. Louis Takes Round 2
|
The St. Louis Browns are riding high after winning the Round 2 and eliminating the Jersey Shore D-Bags by a series score of 4-2.
The final blow came tonight at Gateway Stadium, when St. Louis secured its spot in the League Championship Series with a 7-3 victory.
"It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said catcher José Alberto, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance."
Alberto certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .417 with a .481 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 4 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The St. Louis Browns will play against the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese in the next round. Kalamazoo won their series against the Vista Panthers 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
