Browns Deal Baysox 5-1 Loss
|
The St. Louis Browns beat the Charm City Baysox, 5-1. St. Louis pitcher and Denton, Texas, native José Ventura led the way. St. Louis has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
St. Louis used the timely hitting of Bill Taylor to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Browns on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"José has got a slow heartbeat," said St. Louis manager José Mora. "He doesn't panic or anything."
