Arellano Slugs Steers to 7-3 Win
Due in large part to designated hitter Duane Arellano, the Dallas Steers sunk the Long Island Ducks, 7-3. Arellano was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Bernard Cháves earned the save, his 21st. The losses continue to add up for Long Island, having now dropped 9 straight.

Los Angeles, California-born Eugene Cook came through in the clutch. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Steers trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Dallas on top.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Dallas manager Mike Moore.
