Admirals Win, 6-4, at Phoenix
|
Seattle center fielder Stevie Szabo helped his team beat the Phoenix Firebirds, 6-4. Szabo went 1 for 2 for the Admirals. David Flanagan, the winning pitcher, improved to 13-3. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Travis Sharp earned the save for Seattle, his 12th of the year.
Seattle used the bat of Salvador Alou to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Admirals ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Alou.
At 74-43, the Admirals claim second place in the Earth Division.
