Loss to Gang Green Extends Columbus Losing Streak
The Irvine Gang Green withstood a fine game by Columbus left fielder John Dycus at The Ballpark at Irvine, to upend the Coalition, 9-4. Dycus went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. The win was credited to Nick Hunt in relief. His record improves to 7-0. Tommy Lee took the loss. The slumping Coalition have lost 6 straight.

One of the clutch hits for Irvine came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with two out, Estanislau Gandarei, who finished 3rd in the BSA in wins above replacement with 8.0 last year, hit a 2-run single to put the Gang Green up, 6-3. For the game, the catcher went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Winning never gets dull," said Gandarei.
