The Yonkers Yetis trumped the New York Knights, 6-4, at Bronx Municipal Park. Yonkers center fielder Michael Byrd was terrific. He was 3-6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. Yonkers reliever Mike Miller picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jake Coverney was saddled with the loss. The win gives Yonkers a record of 2-0.

Yonkers used the timely hitting of Iván Guzmán to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Yetis on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Yonkers manager Joe Rose.
