84's Deal Steers 9-6 Loss
|
The Greenville 84's beat the Dallas Steers, 9-6, at Seabreeze Stadium. Rob Craig, in particular, was impressive. He went 4-4 with a triple, 2 doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times. Greenville reliever Mason Hanmer picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Bernard Cháves was tagged with the loss. The triumph puts Greenville at 71-54 for the season.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Juan Gómez came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Dallas pitcher Bernard Cháves, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Greenville on top, 7-6.
"We took home the win," said Gómez. "What's not to like?"
