Kings Lose, 6-3, in 10
|
Kansas City right fielder Anatolio Uribe had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Uribe went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, even as New Orleans beat the Kings, 6-3. The winner in relief was Armando Andrade. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 3-5. Bob Corrigan closed it out for New Orleans, earning his 14th save.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Adam Daly came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Kansas City pitcher Cy Neal, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting New Orleans on top, 4-2.
"Big win," said Daly.
The Crescents raised their record to 53-74.
