The Maui Wave bested the Phoenix Firebirds, 8-2, at Firebirds Field. Yifu Tsui was one of the standouts. He slugged 3 home runs. Wilbur Miles picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 12-8. The second-place Wave have won 5 in a row.
With Maui leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Tsui hit a curveball from Cisco Toledo for a solo home run. It was his 41st home run of the season and put the Wave ahead, 2-0.
"I like our mindset right now," said Maui manager José Betancourt.
