G-Strings Drop Another One, 6-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Dallas Steers and Nashville G-Strings.
Dallas first baseman Troy Watkins was instrumental in helping the Steers triumph, 6-4, over the Nashville G-Strings. Watkins went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 4 runs. Vicente Sánchez, the winner, is now 9-11. He struck out 5 and walked 3 over 5 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 5 hits.
Jessie Yoxall was 2 for 4 with 2 singles for Dallas. The slick-fielding third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring single off Bob Lord. It was his 116th hit of the season.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Nashville manager Jesús Domínguez.
The victory gives Dallas a record of 72-61.
