Browns Win at Kansas City, 6-3
|
St. Louis and Kansas City got after it at Kings Ball Park.
The St. Louis Browns picked up a win at Kings Ball Park, knocking off the Kansas City Kings, 6-3. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Víctor Sánchez. He played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Sánchez. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Thom Long.
Arnold Carey had a big 3-run home run for the Browns in the top of the fifth inning. With St. Louis leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a changeup from Thom Long, the 26th overall pick in the 2041 draft, and punished it. The result was his 22nd home run of the season, which put the Browns on top, 5-0.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said St. Louis manager José Mora.
After today's action, St. Louis sits at 80-54, while Kansas City falls to 77-56.
