Cooke Stars as Ducks Top Outlaws, 11-6
|
The Long Island Ducks stopped the Oklahoma City Outlaws, 11-6, at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace. The Ducks got a big game from Larry Cooke, who went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6. The winning pitcher was 31-year old left-handed pitcher Vicente Tamir. He tossed 84 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The Outlaws drop to 7-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 2055 season.
Early in the game, Cooke had a grand slam home run for Long Island. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Ducks on top, 5-1.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Cooke.
