The Boston Rebels racked up a win at Rainbow Stadium, bumping off the Maui Wave, 6-2. Michael Melsom, who started for Boston, pitched effectively for his team. Maui has now lost 4 straight.

Boston used a well-timed hit by Larry Piper to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Rebels ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Melsom told the Boston Daily News.
