Alou Slugs Admirals to 5-3 Win
|
The Seattle Admirals downed the Columbus Coalition, 5-3. The hitting star was left fielder Salvador Alou. Alou hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Admirals. Seattle reliever Curtis Ouellet was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Alex Shafer took the loss. Seattle, now 14-1, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Seattle used a clutch hit from Jonathon Chappell to get the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Admirals ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Chappell attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
