Seattle Beats New York, 8-3
|
The Seattle Admirals knocked off the New York Knights, 8-3, at Bronx Municipal Park. Estanislau Gandarei was a big reason Seattle won. The catcher went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Junior Limond. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 3. The save went to Jorge Gonzáles, his 16th this season.
Willie Roundtree's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Seattle. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Seattle trailing 3-2, the designated hitter reached on an error by the left fielder, driving in 1 run.
"We take it day by day here," said Roundtree, "and today was a good one for us."
The first-place Admirals have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
