Steers Edge Gang Green, 7-6
|
The Dallas Steers withstood an impressive performance by Irvine first baseman Ron Harris to defeat the Gang Green, 7-6, at The Ballpark at Irvine. Harris went 3-3 with 3 doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Alan Morris earned his 6th save in 6 chances. With the win, Dallas upped its record to 79-65.
Pedro Romo came through with a big-time hit for Dallas. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Dallas manager Mike Moore.
