Sullivan, G-Strings Too Much for Browns
|
The Nashville G-Strings stymied the St. Louis Browns, 7-1, at Gateway Stadium. Eric Sullivan had a good day at the plate. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Nashville. Bartolo Bojórquez was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 1 run on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. The save went to Sang-hoon O, his 6th this season.
Nashville took a 5-1 lead on Kevin McCord's 37th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which McCord hit in the top of the seventh, left St. Louis pitcher Sterling Ascensio visibly frustrated.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," McCord told the Nashville Times.
Nashville, at 94-51, is 8 games up in the Fire Division.
