The St. Charles Sheens faced a tough opponent in Jersey Shore pitcher Leroy Page, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Crown Royal Stadium by a final score of 2-0. Page went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Alfred Molina earned his 25th save in 27 tries. The Sheens sport a record of 54-94.

The D-Bags had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Sheens going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old third baseman Greg Knowles came to the plate. Knowles hit a 2-run home run on a 0-2 changeup from Jersey Shore hurler Leroy Page. It was Knowles's 13th home run of the year.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Knowles told the St. Charles Gazette.
