Admirals Down Seals, 5-2
|
Seattle turned a good effort from starter Iván Martínez into a win over the San Francisco Seals at Seals Stadium. The final score was 5-2. The Admirals improved to a lofty 106-43.
Seattle needed the clutch hitting of Willie Roundtree to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the 17th inning to put the Admirals on top, 5-2. For the game, Roundtree had 1 home run and 2 singles in 7 at-bats.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Admirals manager José Guzmán.
