Firebirds Suffer 4-2 Road Loss
|
Cleveland pitcher Jake Harris did his part in helping his team beat the Phoenix Firebirds, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Pete Brown was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 36 of 43 save opportunities. The win gives Cleveland a season record of 86-65.
Víctor Rodríguez had a big 2-run home run for the Fire in the bottom of the first inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from Steve Cox, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2050 draft, and punished it. The result was his 48th home run of the season, which put the Fire on top, 3-0.
When asked about his performance after the game, Harris said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
