D-Bags Turn Away Meatballs, 2-1

Fans watched the Jersey Shore D-Bags and the Sausalito Meatballs fight to the finish.
A good performance from first baseman Todd Abbott helped the Jersey Shore D-Bags defeat the Sausalito Meatballs, 2-1. Abbott went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the D-Bags. Jersey Shore pitcher Ramón Pérez earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Quentin Miller suffered the loss. Doug Wells got the save, his 32nd in 34 chances.
With Jersey Shore leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Abbott hit a run-scoring single off Sausalito hurler Tomás Cardenas. It was the 138th hit of the season for Abbott and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Abbott.
Their 65-85 record puts the D-Bags 6th in the Water Division.
