Sykes Deals Orlando 3-1 Setback
|
The Nashville G-Strings beat the Orlando Calrissian, 3-1, at Mel Fields. Starting pitcher Mike Sykes was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The G-Strings, now 11-4, have been playing some good baseball.
Sykes tossed 108 pitches over 7.2 innings to clinch the win for the G-Strings. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.
Afterward, G-Strings manager Armando Salazar was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
