Behind a solid performance from second baseman Ralph Casey, the Fort Worth Cougars defeated the Lubbock Green Sox, 5-4. Casey hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times for the Cougars. Pat Bruce earned the save for Fort Worth, his 36th of the year. The losing streak for Lubbock has now reached 5 games.

Casey had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Bobby Ross, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Cougars a 5-4 lead. It was the 15th home run of the year for Casey.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Casey. "And not try to do too much."
