The San Francisco Seals topped the Long Island Ducks, 10-3, with youngster Tad Buck playing a key role. Buck was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Seals in the win. Ricardo Aleixa, the winner, is now 8-8. He struck out 2 and walked 1 over 6 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The Seals go to 58-96 with the win.
With San Francisco leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Buck batted against Long Island pitcher Tadeusz Dobrzechowski. Buck hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 24th home run of the season put the Seals on top, 5-1.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Buck.
