Yetis Stymie Lubbock, Take 3-1 Win
|
Yonkers right-hander Jimmy Roberts pitched his team to victory over the Lubbock Green Sox at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace. The final score was 3-1. With the victory, the Yetis upped their record to 84-73.
The Green Sox had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Yetis going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right fielder Sherman Grasia came to the plate. Grasia hit a solo home run on a first pitch slider from Lubbock hurler Curt Morton. It was Grasia's 35th home run of the year.
Roberts called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
