The home crowd had a good time watching the Irvine Gang Green and Dallas Steers get after it.

In the 5-3 Dallas win over Irvine, the impact of Bartolo Parra was substantial. Parra went 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Dallas reliever Chet McPhee picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Pat Dobson was saddled with the loss. Bernard Cháves sewed up the save, his 1st.

In the bottom of the sixth, Dallas shortstop Roy Morton gave his team the lead. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Cajun hit his 1st double of the year. Irvine pitcher Salvador Rodríguez surrendered it. With that, the Steers jumped in front, 4-3.

"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Parra told the Dallas Herald.

The Steers raised their record to 2-0.
