Cougars Get Past New York for 7-6 Win
The Fort Worth Cougars turned back the New York Knights, 7-6, at Cougar Den. Pedro Gutiérrez, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Fort Worth reliever Pat Bruce was the winner. His record is now 6-3. Rodolfo Márquez took the loss. Fort Worth bumps their record to 83-76 with the win.

The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Gutiérrez. Facing Rodolfo Márquez with the bases loaded, the Fort Worth right fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. Game over, walk-off style!

"We ground out the win," said Gutiérrez. "That's all that matters."
