G-Strings Deal 84's 3-2 Defeat
|
Greenville wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Fraser Cahill, falling to the Nashville G-Strings, 3-2. Cahill threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Richard Clark got the save, the 10th for him this season. Nashville is 79-81 and Greenville, with the loss, 78-82.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when G-Strings second baseman Mike Lane hit a fastball from Fraser Cahill for a 2-run single. Just like that, Nashville was up, 2-1.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said G-Strings manager Jesús Domínguez.
