The Mexico City Luchadores rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Júlio Vargas to a win, beating the Minnesota North Stars, 4-1, at Eagles Park. The 4th-place Luchadores hiked their record to 79-81.

Myles Clements, who is tied for 4th in the BSA in triples with 8, came through for Mexico City with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.

"Júlio did a good job keeping the game under control," said Mexico City manager Larry Link.
