North Stars Earn 3-2 Win Versus Kings
|
The Minnesota North Stars faced a tough opponent in Kansas City pitcher Jun Matsuura, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Kallipolis by a final score of 3-2. Matsuura went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Stephen Dye picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Weldon Tupper was tagged with the loss. The save went to James Swanson, his 3rd this season.
Alain Genty drove in one run for Minnesota. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Weldon Tupper. It was his 15th RBI of the season.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Genty.
For the Kings, the loss makes their record 6-10.
