Ricardo Marino put on a hitting clinic as the Santa Monica Bruins dumped the Chapel Hill Sharks, 18-8, at Sharks Stadium.

The Santa Monica third baseman made Chapel Hill defenders earn their pay, lashing Chapel Hill pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Marino said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
