Detroit Loses, 6-5, in 11
|
The San Francisco Seals topped the Detroit Dirtbags, 6-5, in Baseball Stars Association action at Seals Stadium. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and New York, native Juan Peña. Héctor Ángel, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Dirtbags drop to 8-9 and continue their mediocre start to the 2054 season.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when San Francisco center fielder Patrick Campbell, facing Nick Donahue, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Seals the 6-5 win.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said San Francisco manager Josh Baker.
