Ducks Come Up Short at San Francisco, 3-2
|
Both teams had their chances, but the San Francisco Seals eventually prevailed.
In a low-scoring affair between the San Francisco Seals and the Long Island Ducks, pitcher Ricardo Aleixa was the difference between victory and defeat. The San Francisco right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Seals win. Aleixa picked up the win for San Francisco, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. The save went to Héctor Ángel, number 3 for him.
Jack Cook had a big solo home run for the Seals in the bottom of the first inning. With San Francisco leading 2-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 31-year old left-handed pitcher Vicente Tamir and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Seals on top, 3-0.
"That was a really good outing by Ricardo," said San Francisco manager Pedro Rodríguez.
The Seals, with just their 7th win so far in 2055, have yet to catch fire.
