The Maui Wave got a stellar performance from pitcher Tim Pugh, who handcuffed the Charm City offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Prince George's Stadium. The win belongs to Salvador Rivera in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dan Perkins took the loss for Charm City. The win has Maui at 8-11.
Maui used a clutch hit from Jeff Crummy to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wave ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"We played hard and won," said Pugh. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
