Kings Dump Cervezas de Miami, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Kansas City Kings got the win.
The Cervezas de Miami got a superb performance from pitcher Tom Miller. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kansas City. The Kings won the game, 4-2. Miller threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. Kansas City is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 8th in 22 games.
The Cervezas de Miami had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Kings going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 31-year old left fielder Miguel Guerrero came to the plate. Guerrero hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 slider from Cervezas de Miami hurler Tom Miller. It was Guerrero's 7th double of the year.
"I thought we played a nice game," Guerrero told the Kansas City Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
