The SoCal Blue Crew picked up a win at Agent 47 Field, topping the Columbus Coalition, 9-5. On the mound for SoCal was right-hander Dave Pate. He played a principal role in the triumph. Pate yielded 3 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-3. SoCal, now 9-14, is off to a slow start.
Cipriano Trujillo, the SoCal designated hitter, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to make the score 3-0, Blue Crew. For the game, Trujillo was 2-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Dave did a good job of managing their lineup," said SoCal manager Tim Hageman.
