Vargas Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Alberto Vargas of the Sharks was unstoppable in today's 9-7 victory over the Sunderland Black Cats at Little Phoenix Park. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Chapel Hill center fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."

Alberto Vargas flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
