The Maui Wave picked up a win at Seabreeze Stadium, knocking off the Dallas Steers, 2-1. Starting pitcher Manuel Sonego played a key role in the triumph. Sonego picked up the win for Maui, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. James Horton closed it out for Maui, earning his 5th save.

Maui won the game in part because of Gustavo Oliva. The catcher ripped a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Wave ahead, 1-0. For the game, Oliva had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Oliva said after the game.

With the loss, Dallas is 15-11.
