Cervezas de Miami Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Cervezas de Miami take on the Houston Eagles.
Behind an impressive start by Ángel Duarte, Houston beat Cervezas de Miami, 2-0. Duarte got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Duarte allowed no runs.
Houston used a well-timed hit by Ángel Villa to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Eagles ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
In postgame comments to the Houston Times, Villa said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The loss has the Cervezas de Miami at 15-10.
