Steers Get One-Run Win at Phoenix
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Dallas Steers eventually prevailed.
Dallas starter Víctor Sánchez pitched well against the Phoenix Firebirds at Firebirds Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 1-0. Bernard Cháves was credited with the save for Dallas, his 6th of the season.
Claudio Ramos, the 27-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ramos contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Dallas up, 1-0.
Sánchez told a Dallas Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The Firebirds fall to 10-18.
