The Sausalito Meatballs racked up a win at Kings Ball Park, bumping off the Kansas City Kings, 5-3. Bernardo López, who started for Sausalito, pitched effectively for his team. The save went to Arnold Garrett, his 1st this season. The loss drops Kansas City to 17-10.

Dan Edwards had a big 2-run home run for the Meatballs in the top of the sixth inning. With Sausalito leading 3-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Michael Spence and swatted a home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Meatballs ahead, 5-1.

Edwards told a Sausalito Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
