Big Day at the Plate for Strickland Not Enough for Gang Green
The Fort Worth Cougars weathered an outstanding game by Irvine designated hitter Damon Strickland to topple the Gang Green, 6-4. Strickland slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Gang Green, 15-14, continue their so-so start to the 2051 season.

In the bottom of the sixth, Fort Worth second baseman Ralph Casey put his team on top. With one out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 3rd home run of the year. Irvine pitcher Johnny Tatum served it up. Just like that, the Cougars were ahead, 4-3.

Casey described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
