D-Bags Come Up Short at St. Louis, 4-3
The St. Louis Browns handed the Jersey Shore D-Bags a 4-3 defeat at Gateway Stadium. Catcher Luis Miguel Martínez starred for St. Louis. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times. Bob Graham closed it out for his 4th save. St. Louis, at 24-7, is off to a blistering start.

The D-Bags had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Browns going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left fielder Bill Taylor came to the plate. Taylor hit a solo home run on a 0-1 fastball from Jersey Shore hurler Michael Swanson. It was Taylor's 11th home run of the year.

Martínez called the win "a collective effort."
