Admirals Handed 5-2 Loss by Dallas
|
Eugene Cook was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Seattle Admirals. The shortstop was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for the Dallas Steers. The win puts Dallas at 18-14.
Takakazu Endo had a big 2-run double for the Steers in the bottom of the first inning. With Dallas leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jesús Chávez and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Steers ahead, 3-0.
Cook told a Dallas Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
