Funfas 4-for-5, Leads G-Strings to Win
The Nashville G-Strings beat the Kansas City Kings, 12-5, with major props going to center fielder Fausto Funfas. On the day, Funfas went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the G-Strings. The winning pitcher was Bob Lord. He's now 5-1. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the G-Strings. The triumph puts Nashville at 20-13 for the season.

The Kings had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the G-Strings going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 2054 Rookie of the Year Award winner Bob Lord came to the plate. Lord hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 cutter from Kansas City hurler Gregory McClellan. It was Lord's 11th home run of the year.
