Both teams had their chances, but the Nashville G-Strings eventually prevailed.
The Maui Wave got a superb performance from pitcher Wilbur Miles. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Nashville. The G-Strings won the game, 5-4. Miles threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The win puts Nashville at 18-16 this season.
Nashville used the timely hitting of Javier Mejía to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the G-Strings on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Both teams played hard," said Nashville manager Armando Salazar.
